Property Location Map
Introduction

The Yurchison Lake property is located 70 kilometres southeast of the McArthur River uranium mine and 35 kilometres east of the Moore Lake joint venture property. It consists of 4 contiguous claims totaling 12,660 hectares. JNR Resources holds an unencumbered 100% interest in the property.

Previous Work

The ground was staked in September of 2006 in response to positive results obtained from a regional-scale exploration program during the summer.

Prospecting and geological mapping in and near old trenches returned significant uranium and molybdenum mineralization from both outcrop and float samples. Uranium values ranged from 0.09 to 0.30% U3O8 with molybdenum values ranging form 2,500 to 6,400 ppm. Geologically, the showings are underlain by actinolite-bearing gneisses. An 800 line-kilometre helicopter-borne VTEM survey of the project lands was completed in October 2006. Interpretation of the results will determine drill targets for future programs.

2008 Exploration Program

Fourteen holes totalling 2,902 metres were drilled in 2008. A number of holes intersected sulphidic and base metal-rich, structurally disrupted and altered graphitic pelitic gneisses. Two holes drilled beneath the historic trenches returned highly anomalous molybdenum (up to 3,750 ppm) and anomalous uranium values (up to 240 ppm).

2010 Exploration Program

In 2010, additional sampling of the 2008 drill core was carried out to confirm the presence of base metal mineralization that was visually and geochemically identified during the 2008 exploration program.

Significant zinc (Zn) and copper (Cu) mineralization was confirmed in six of the 13 drill holes completed on the project. Several broad intervals of Zn mineralization were identified in holes YL-08-102, YL-08-105 and YL-08-107 to YL-08-110. The most significant results from these holes include: a 17.5-m interval of 0.08% Zn (up to 0.40% over 0.5 m) in YL-08-107; a 5.5-m interval of 0.53% Zn, including 0.73% Zn over 2.8 m in YL-08-108; and a 4.5-m zone of 0.08% Zn in YL-08-110. In addition, two 1.0-m intervals of significant Cu mineralization (1.78% Cu and 0.37% Cu), associated with faulting was encountered in YL-08-105. Previously completed airborne GEOTEM surveys have defined conductive trends possibly associated with this base metal mineralization on the Yurchison Lake project and will be the focus of future drill programs.

The following table summarizes the most significant base metal mineralization in the 2008 Yurchison Lake drill holes.

All zinc (Zn) mineralization has corresponding lead enrichment and is associated with locally faulted and sheared metasedimentary rocks of the Wollaston Group, similar to those at the George Lake deposit (13 million tons of 2.76% percent zinc and 0.36 percent lead) located approximately 15 km to the northeast. Recent work by Wildcat Exploration at their Sito Lake project 160 km, along strike to the southwest, has illustrated stratigraphic similarities to the large Broken Hill base metals deposits of Australia.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control

JNR's Vice-President Exploration and Chief Operating Officer, David L. Billard, PGeo, is the Qualified Person for the Company's Athabasca Basin uranium projects. All technical information for the projects is obtained and reported under a formal quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) program, details of which are presented in the PDF link below.
